Since being appointed to his latest role in 2005, Bill Bruce has guided BBDO New York's tremendous growth and its transformation into not only the dominant creative force in the City but, indeed, the world. The 2008 "Agency of the Year" honor at Cannes, the 2008 winner of The Gunn Report, most awarded agency at the London International Awards and The One Show, being just a few of the many accolades BBDO New York has received over the past year.

Today, BBDO is delivering the broadest array of innovative new media ideas of any agency, big or small. These ideas, from the award-winning HBO "Voyeur" to the AMP Human Energy Event to the BBC Cables wall, transcend traditional forms and have helped propel BBDO New York to one of its best award-show-performance-years ever. Throughout his career, Bill has continually received numerous accolades for his work on brands like Pepsi, Sierra Mist, Aquafina, etc., from awards shows such as Cannes, the Clios, the Emmys, LIA and more.

During his more than 20 years at BBDO, Bill has created such iconic work such as the "Do the Dew" campaign for Mtn. Dew and a series of sitcom commercials, entitled "Mist-Takes," for Sierra Mist, that have been generation-defining and culturally relevant. Beyond his beverage work, Bill has overseen campaigns on other BBDO clients ranging from Chrysler, New Balance and Sony to FedEx, Havaianas and Target-the latter enjoyed its best 2-day sale in history behind the Bruce-inspired David Blaine promotion partnership in 2006.

Bill joined BBDO as a copywriter in 1987 and his talents were immediately noticed by his mentor, the late great ad man Phil Dusenberry. After just one year, he was promoted to creative supervisor and elected a vice president. He later became a creative director in 1993, and was promoted to his current position in October 2005. Prior to BBDO, Bill was a copywriter on the Ford account at J.Walter Thompson in Detroit. He also spent a year as a copywriter at BBDO Detroit.

Bill and his family live in Connecticut.
