wins a Gold and Three Silver Statues
AlmapBBDO, Brazil can’t seem to put a foot wrong when it comes to their campaigns for Havaianas. Two separate Havaianas campaigns won Statues for both Art Direction Campaign and Consumer Campaign.
The elusive Gold Statue for Art Direction Campaign was awarded to the campaign where the slippers are the main focus. Nothing could be truer than one of the headlines that read, “Shoes say a lot…”
“The shoes certainly say a lot, “ observed Barbara Levy, President Of London International. “There is something very sexy about those ads. They appeal not only visually but upon reading the copy, they actually make you want to go out and buy a pair of Havaianas. Now that is advertising at its best,”
Traditionally, Brazil has done well in the show. But this year, AlmapBBDO was
clearly in the lead, in terms of both craft and campaign categories. While the judging panel from all over the world made the call to award the Gold to the “Shoes say a lot…” Campaign and a Silver for Consumer Campaign, the other Havaianas Campaign, “If you like delicate…”, was honoured with a Silver for Consumer Campaign and Art Direction Campaign.
“We are seeing a lot of good work from South America,” added Barbara Levy.
“Havaianas is just one of many examples of brilliant advertising from that part of the world.”
