Evolution wins Two Grand Prizes for
Ogilvy & Mather, Toronto in London International Awards 2007

(London, 12 November, 2007) - Ogilvy & Mather, Toronto created history this year with “Dove Evolution”. They walked off with two Grand Prizes, one for Television/Cinema and the other for Digital Media Online – Viral. But more than just being Grand Prizes for two separate media, “Dove Evolution” is the perfect example of full convergence media working in perfect synchronicity.

“It started out as a Digital film for the Dove Self Esteem Fund,” explained Janet Kestin, Creative Director of Ogilvy & Mather, Toronto. “The Ogilvy office in the Netherlands did a cross promotion by running prints ads, directing readers to view the TVC. That’s how it first went onto mainstream broadcast media. We also edited it to a 60-seconder and ran it on Canadian TV.”

“Ogilvy & Mather, Toronto deftly used the strengths of the different media to express the idea in the most effective way,” observed Barbara Levy, President of London International Awards.

The two Jury Chairmen, Tony Granger for Television/Cinema and Mark Chalmers for Digital Media, independently picked “Evolution” as the Grand Prize Winners from the Gold Winners in both these media.

Two years ago, “Dove Real Beauty”, which kicked started the whole idea of portraying real women in advertising instead of picture perfect models, won the Grand Prize for Print for Ogilvy & Mather, London in the 2005 London International Awards.

“Evolution is also a great example of how a truly great idea like “Dove Real Beauty” has legs and has evolved successfully,” continued Barbara Levy. “A great idea is not a one- hit wonder and can work from anywhere in the world. Evolution has proven that.”
