TWO FRENCH ADVERTISING AGENCIES WIN AT PRESTIGIOUS LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS 2007 1 Entry Captures Gold Statue, 2 Win Silver Statue
(London, November 12, 2007) – Two French advertising agencies were recognised for their superior entries to the 2007 London International Awards held at the Hippodrome this evening. Now in its 22nd year, the London International Awards honours excellence in advertising, design and digital media.
Three entries from France in the mediums of Print, Poster & Outdoor and Television/Cinema have been chosen as Gold and Silver winners.
BETC Euro RSCG’s entry “Merry Christmas” for the SCI Fi Channel won a Gold Statue in Print. Its Print entry “Brokeback Mountain” for CANAL+ won a Silver Statue in Television/Cinema. Freelance - Luissandro Del Gobbo’s submission “Sewing Machine; Hammer; Polisher” won a Silver Statue for its Poster and Outdoor campaign for Buttero Boots.
Of the 17,660 submissions, only eight percent (8%) reached Finalist status. Of those elite selections, 1.4% attained Silver status and only 0.5% were awarded Gold Statues. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.
“It is clear that France is still producing some very sophisticated work that is impacting the advertising industry as a whole,” said Barbara Levy, President of London International Awards. "As an organization devoted to acknowledging creative endeavours, we feel privileged to highlight the tremendous talent that is consistently showcased in France."
