SWEDEN CAPTURES GRAND PRIZE AT PRESTIGIOUS LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS 2007

Four Digital Media and Advertising Companies Capture an Additional Gold and Six Silver Statues

(London, November 12, 2007) – A Grand Prize was awarded to one Swedish Digital Media company tonight at the London International Awards, held at the Hippodrome this evening. Now in its 22nd year, the London International Awards honours excellence in advertising, design and digital media.

Farfar of Stockholm won the Grand Prize in Digital Media for “Heides,” a campaign created for Diesel Underwear. Only six Grand Prizes were awarded at the ceremony, chosen from a pool of 17,660 submissions.

In addition to the Grand Prize, seven entries from Sweden in the mediums of Digital Media and Television/Cinema have been chosen as Gold and Silver Statue winners. 30 entries in total from Sweden reached Finalist status.

The companies being recognised for their work include:
Farfar– one Gold Statue and one Silver Statue in Digital Media
Product/Service: Diesel Underwear
Title: “Heides”

Forsman & Bodenfors– one Silver Statue in Digital Media
Product/Services: IKEA
Title: “Come into the Closet”

Lowe Brindfors– one Silver Statue in Digital Media
Product/Services: Stella Artois
Title: “Le Defi”

Ogilvy Group Sweden– three Silver Statues in Television/Cinema
Product/Services: Ford Focus Flexifuel
Title: “Next Generation”

Of the 17,660 submissions, only eight percent (8%) reached Finalist status. Of those elite selections, 1.4% attained Silver status and only 0.5% were awarded Gold Statues. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.

“It is clear that Sweden is still producing some very sophisticated work that is impacting the advertising industry as a whole,” said Barbara Levy, President of London International Awards. "As an organization devoted to acknowledging creative endeavours, we feel privileged to highlight the tremendous talent that is consistently showcased in Sweden."
