ARGENTINIAN AGENCIES WIN 13 STATUES AT PRESTIGIOUS LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

VOP Wins Two Gold and Two Silver Statues

(London, November 10, 2008) – Five agencies in Canada were recognised for their superior entries to the 2008 London International Awards held at the Hippodrome this evening. Now in its 23rd year, London International Awards continues to honour excellence in advertising, design and digital media.

VOP was the big winner, winning two Gold Statues with 'Chocolate Man' for Axe in Humour and Cosmetics/Toiletries, Television/Cinema. They also attained two Silver Statues for Axe and Axe Shower Gel in Visual Effect and Cosmetics/Toiletries, Television/Cinema.

The other winners include:

Del Campo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi won a Gold Statue with 'Rock' for Buenos Aires Zoo Guided Tour in Entertainment, Print; a Silver Statue with 'Leaves' for Buenos Aires Zoon Guided Tour, also in Entertainment, Print and a Silver Statue for Consumer Campaign, Print;

Ogilvy & Mather Argentina, Buenos Aires won a Gold Statue with 'Trail' for Suez/SAWA in Entertainment, Television/Cinema; a Silver Statue for Entertainment, Television/Cinema;

Publicis Graffiti won a Gold Statue with 'Figures' for Renault Sandero in Automotive, Television/Cinema; and

Draftfcb Buenos Aires won three Silver Statues in Pharmaceutical, Print and a Silver Statue in Automotive Products, Television/Cinema.

"Argentina has always excelled in Television/Cinema and Print. Here they are proving it again," said Barbara Levy, President of London International Awards. "We are very pleased to be able to showcase the work from Argentina."

Of the 17,969 total submissions from 81 countries, only five percent (5%) reached Finalist status. From that elite group, 1.4% attained Silver status and only 0.7% were awarded Gold Statues. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.
