mortierbrigade Wins a Gold Statue, Duval Guillaume Wins a Silver Statue

(London, November 10, 2008) – Two agencies in Belgium were recognised for their superior entries to the 2008 London International Awards held at the Hippodrome this evening. Now in its 23rd year, London International Awards continues to honour excellence in advertising, design and digital media.

mortierbrigade won a Gold Statue for their entry 'Black Boy wanting Water' in Guerrilla.

Duval Guillaume won a Silver Statue for their entry 'Airbag' for Bazooka Bubble Gum in Poster Indoor.

"It's good to see Belgium winning the Gold in the very competitive category of Guerrilla. All the judges in the Non-Traditional Media panel found that entry to be breakthrough. And that's saying a lot as it was very difficult to impress them," revealed Barbara Levy, President of London International Awards. "That was the same tough jury that judged Poster & Billboard as well. So we're very pleased to able to showcase both these pieces of work from Belgium."

Of the 17,969 total submissions from 81 countries, only five percent (5%) reached Finalist status. From that elite group, 1.4% attained Silver status and only 0.7% were awarded Gold Statues. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.
