FRENCH AGENCIES WIN SEVEN STATUES AT PRESTIGIOUS LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

(London, November 10, 2008) – Five agencies in France were recognised for their superior entries to the 2008 London International Awards held at the Hippodrome this evening. Now in its 23rd year, London International Awards continues to honour excellence in advertising, design and digital media.

The four companies that won Gold and Silver Statues include:

Callegri Breville Grey's entry 'SHS Safari Girls' won a Gold Statue in Print and their entry 'Ear' for Aquafresh Flexigel won a Silver Statue in Poster Outdoor

Quad Productions, Paris' entry 'A Journey' for Louis Vuitton won a Gold Statue in Cinematography, Television/Cinema

JWT Paris' entry 'Ultimate Break' for NESTLE won a Silver Statue in Animation, Television/Cinema

Publicis Conseil's entry 'Rewind City' for Orange 'TV on Demand' won two Silver Statues in Editing and Utilities, Television/Cinema

Young & Rubicam France won a Silver Statue for their entry 'Generic; Cuba; India; James; Ska; Blues; Funk; Folk; Jazz; Rap' in Poster & Billboard.

"The French have always excelled in fashion and they have proven it by winning two Gold Statues, one for apparel and the other for Louis Vuitton in Cinematography," observed Barbara Levy, President of London International Awards. "Overall the French have raised the standard for everyone."

Of the 17,969 total submissions from 81 countries, only five percent (5%) reached Finalist status. From that elite group, 1.4% attained Silver status and only 0.7% were awarded Gold Statues. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.
