OGILVY AMSTERDAM WINS GOLD FOR BURMA
FILM AT PRESTIGIOUS LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS
(London, November 10, 2008) – Ogilvy Amsterdam in The Netherlands was recognised for their superior entry to the 2008 London International Awards held at the Hippodrome this evening. Now in its 23rd year, London International Awards continues to honour excellence in advertising, design and digital media.
Ogilvy Amsterdam won a Gold Statue for their entry, 'Support Burma' for Animation, Television/Cinema.
"This entry certainly did both the agency and the country proud by winning a Gold in animation," commented Barbara Levy, President of London International Awards. "The standard of animation in film has just made quantum leaps forward in the past few years... only the very best would be considered for metal."
Of the 17,969 total submissions from 81 countries, only five percent (5%) reached Finalist status. From that elite group, 1.4% attained Silver status and only 0.7% were awarded Gold Statues. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.
