Leo Burnett Bangkok Wins the Most Statues
with Four Gold and Six Silver

(London, November 10, 2008) – Seven Thai Agencies won 10 Gold and 14 Silver Statues. They were recognised for their superior entries to the 2008 London International Awards held at the Hippodrome this evening. Now in its 23rd year, London International Awards continues to honour excellence in advertising, design and digital media.

Leo Burnett Bangkok won four Gold Statues with 'Orange', 'Yellow', 'Red' and 'Blue' for Clima Bicycle Lock in Home Products, Print; two Silver Statues for Clima Bicycle Lock 'Red' and 'Orange' in Photography, Print; four Silver Statues in Photography, Print and Photography Campaign for WMF;

Dentsu (Thailand) Bangkok won two Gold Statues in Personal/Gift Items. Print;

Ogilvy & Mather Bangkok won two Gold and a Silver Statue for Black & Decker Lawn Mover in Home Furnishings/Appliance, Print; one Silver Statue for Black & Decker Drill in Consumer Campaign, Print;

BBDO Bangkok won a Gold Statue for Stationery, Design;

Lowe Bangkok won a Gold Statue in Direct Mail, Design; four Silver Statues for Ogawa Ventilating Fans in Poster Indoor, Poster Campaign Indoor, Consumer Campaign and Home Furnishings/Appliances, Print;

Euro RSCG Flagship Bangkok won a Silver Statue in Poster Outdoor; and

OgilvyOne Worldwide won a Silver Statue in Stationery, Design.

"Once again Thailand is showing the creative world their superiority in Print and Poster. This year, they've have done well in Design, too," observed Barbara Levy, President of London International Awards.

Of the 17,969 total submissions from 81 countries, only five percent (5%) reached Finalist status. From that elite group, 1.4% attained Silver status and only 0.7% were awarded Gold Statues. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.
