(London, November 10, 2008) – For the first time in 23 years, one agency was awarded three Grand Prizes and 36 Statues at the Hippodrome this evening. Now in its 23rd year, London International Awards continues to honour excellence in advertising, design and digital media.

BBDO's entry 'Guns', 'Protest' and 'Food Drops' for BBC World was awarded two Grand Prizes for Design and Non-Traditional Media. In addition, the entry 'Voyeur Projection Installation' for HBO Voyeur, was awarded the third Grand Prize, in Digital Media.

On top of the three Grand Prizes, they won 16 Gold Statues in Design, Digital, Integrated, Non-Traditional Media and Television/Cinema. They attained an additional 20 Silver Statues for Design, Non-Traditional Media and Television/Cinema.

"It's a staggering amount of Grand Prizes for one agency to win, not to mention the swag of Gold and Silver Statues as well," enthused Barbara Levy, President of London International Awards. "Never in the history of London International Awards has any agency achieved three Grand Prizes. BBDO New York has certainly raised the stakes for everyone."

Of the 17,969 total submissions from 81 countries, only five percent (5%) reached Finalist status. From that elite group, 1.4% attained Silver status and only 0.7% were awarded Gold Statues. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.
